We've officially transitioned into Autumn! Summer is over and this season, for some can be very stressful. From starting a new academic year in school, starting University for the first time, going back to work for those who have been on holiday, for everyone this time can be very demanding. We understand how important it is to balance your stress levels to maintain a healthy mental state and all round stable life so we've provided our top 5 recommendations to de-stress this Autumn season!

Taking short walks can be a great stress reliever. Spending time in nature and taking in fresh air can go a long way to reducing stress levels. Take the time to reflect, go on a gratitude walk and just spend time thinking about something else rather than work or school for a few minutes a day.

2. Get organised

Let's face it. It's hard to be stress free when you have a hundred different things you need to do with no idea as to how and when you are going to get everything done! Getting organised and having a structured plan as to what you need to do and when an go a long way in decluttering your mind. Try writing a list of things you need to accomplish each week and then daily to-do lists to break down your bigger tasks. This helps you feel accomplished each day when you're able to tick things off your list.

3. Exercise Daily

Exercising helps with releasing endorphins, which are mood-boosting chemicals. Exercising on a regular basis will go a long way  to reducing stress levels and also contribute to a healthy lifestyle. Try getting 20 minutes a day, over a long period of time the benefits will show.

4. Treat yourself

Treating yourself in moderation can also help in reducing stress levels. Spend some time on that hobby that you love but haven't had time for in a while. Treat yourself to that sweet treat that you've been avoiding for weeks. Maybe take some time to pamper yourself, visit a spa, get a massage, get your hair or nails done. Just take time to do something you love and relax.

5. Unplug

Finally, sometimes you just need to unplug. Whether that is by turning off your phone for a few hours or staying in a hotel for a few days, sometimes unplugging from everything and taking sometime to yourself is all you need. In addition, try to find a consistent time in the week when you unplug from it all, even if it is just one hour a day when your phone is switched off; you'll be surprised what a difference it can make!

What now?

A good way to start would be finding time when you can spare a weekend away. Take that time to treat yourself, plan what it is you need to do the coming month or week, take some time to explore and just spend time relaxing.
